Spring:

As the sunshine starts increasing, the urge to get active outdoors rises. Sometimes the urge to exercise is much greater than the body can manage so the key here is ‘to make haste slowly’.

Your body needs to be listened to so please avoid the ‘no pain, no gain’ approach. Before you begin, make sure you are well equipped with the best footwear for your body. The key ingredients are stability and shock absorption. Have your practitioner specify the features that would suit you best.

Begin to exercise gently. Gradually work up to a breathing and heart rate where you could still manage a conversation. The healthiest people undertake 200 minutes of exercise each week, that’s about a 30 minute walk, ride or swim each day.
